Infancy 1925-1930
Miguel Hernandez was confronted with the most transcendental decision of his life: whether he should devote himself completely to poetry or continue being a shepherd.
First publications 1930-1938
These are undoubtedly the most intense years in the poet’s life: his earliest work, his stays in Madrid and the beginning of the War would seal his fate.
Imprisonment and death 1939-1942
At the end of the war, Miguel Hernandez was prosecuted and imprisoned. He fell ill while in jail and later died.
